Heritage Tailoring Revival

Old-school structure, new-school comfort — suiting men actually enjoy wearing.

Tailor fitting a client's suit in the atelier

Project Overview

Structure Without Stiffness

A third-generation tailor shop asked us to modernise its house suit: keep the canvas chest and roped shoulder, but free up the armhole, soften the lining and cut for cyclists, commuters and long wedding days.

We redrafted the house block, built three trial suits and refined across twenty fittings before the new cut went into the shop's order book.

The Challenge

Respect The Craft, Fix The Fit

Regulars loved the look but complained about driving, reaching and sitting. Every comfort change had to stay invisible — no stretch fabrics, no casual details, just smarter geometry.

Our Approach

Twenty Fittings Of Proof

We tested each change — higher armhole, extended back pleat, half-canvas front — on volunteers of different builds, logging range-of-motion before and after. Only changes that helped every body stayed.

“Our reorder rate doubled. Young grooms come in asking for the new cut by name — it looks traditional and feels like sportswear.”
